New Lens Test Drive

After much research, I decided to purchase a new lens before photographing Jeff and Megan's wedding. I was a bit nervous buying outside of the Nikon family, but decided to trust the reviews and went with a Sigma 35mm f/1.4. These are a few of the photos I took of Chelsea (my second shooter) as we sought out photo shoot locations around Stillwood Camp.

I chose this particular lens because of it's focal depth and wide angle. I currently have a 50mm f/1.8 and always feel a bit sad that it isn't a f/1.4. Rather than replace my 50mm, I decided to go for a completely different type of lens with the desired focal abilities. The 35mm is wide angle, lets in lots of light, and is relatively affordable. The Sigma model was available for a grand cheaper than the Nikon with the only major difference being that the Nikon has more weather protection. After one very full day of shooting with my new Sigma, I can report that I am VERY satisfied. It's my new favourite (sorry 50mm!)
