Anyone who knows me knows that I have developed a love for horses. The CBC show Heartland is mostly to be blamed (every time I hear Dreamer by Jenn Grant I am instantly happy). I figured Alberta is full of nice people and farms so there must be someone willing to let me ride their horses while I was out there visiting my grandparents. Sure enough, my wonderful Grandma asked around and found some girls who lived nearby who would take me riding. I'm proud to say that I picked it up quickly (like riding a bike, right?). 

This is what the evening looked like: the mom's/grandma's gossiping on the porch with glasses of wine and watching the daughters/granddaughters take turns with the horses as the sun sets over canola fields. It was magical.
