Jug Island

If you drive to the furthest corner of Belcarra you'll find a trailhead that leads you through the woods to a small pebbly beach on the edge of the Indian Arm fjord. Within swimming distance of the beach is a perfect little island called Jug Island.

Last Sunday, after a failed attempt to visit Golden Ears Park (because apparently that's where everyone and their dog goes on a hot Sunday afternoon), I explored this little corner of the lower mainland. 

I promised myself I would swim as often as possible this summer. So that's what I did, accompanied by my little water camera, despite the water being populated by a disturbing number of jellyfish.
